Are you a perpetual 90’s kid, rocking your Walkman, Lisa Frank folders, and slap bracelets? Do you still have a Tamagotchi or a Chia Pet? This is the pattern for you!
These scrunchies are simple stash busters that can use up those little odds and ends of fingering weight or sport weight yarn taking up room in your stash. The color possibilities are endless! I’ve included three different patterns for your scrunchies and included a blank chart so you can create your own!
Emma is shown in blue and white, Sophie is in white and pink, and Eleanor is in blue and yellow.
Sizing and Dimensions One size: Approximately 4” (10 cm) in diameter
Gauge 7 Sts / 8 Rounds = 1” (2.5 cm) in stockinette stitch Gauge is not critical for this pattern
Notions
Two sets of US3 (3.25 mm) needles or size to obtain gauge Pattern can be worked on DPNs, a long circular for magic loop, or on 2 circulars
Tapestry needle
Crochet hook (for provisional cast on)
Waste yarn
Stitch marker (1)
Elastic hair tie (for inside of scrunchie) Choose reliable hair ties as it is very difficult to replace the hair tie once the scrunchie is complete
Yarn Recommendations Approximately 0.2 oz (6 g) or 25 yds (23 m) each of two high contrast fingering weight yarns. For the samples I used: Emma
