Size
One size, fits a 20”-23” (51-58 cm) head

Approximate Measurements
Approximately 9” (23 cm) tall and 7” (18 cm) wide, with a 14” (36 cm) circumference

Suggested Yarn:
Approximately 110 g of a Super Bulky (#6) Wool needed. Super Bulky yarn can vary in weight and thickness.

For example: The Wool by WAK is heavier by 50 g, but has less yardage than the other two yarns. Therefore, I’ve divided this pattern into two super bulky “weights” - light and heavy.

The following were used for the samples:
Light

  • Malabrigo Rasta (100% Merino Wool), Super Bulky, 150 g (82 m / 90 yds) in Teal Feather or Whole Grain
  • Knotted by Nish (100% SW Merino), Super Bulky, 150 g (90 m / 98 yds) in Glow Explosion

Heavy

  • We Are Knitters, The Wool (100% Wool), Super Bulky, 200 g (80 m / 87 yds) in The Hand Painted Sprinkle

Needles:
US13 (9.0 mm) or US15 (10.0 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular needle, and DPNs or longer circular to use the magic loop method or size required to obtain gauge

Notions:
Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends), stitch marker (1), pom-pom (optional), garment tag (optional)

The samples used 6” (15 cm) faux fur pom-poms from Naptime Knitter Designs and 3” (7.6 cm) Garment Tags from Crochic Styles

Gauge:

  • Light Super Bulky: 12.5 sts / 12 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in pattern (K1 P1 ribbing) using US13 (9.0 mm) needles after steam blocking
  • Heavy Super Bulky: 11.5 sts / 11 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in pattern (K1 P1 ribbing) using US15 (10.0 mm) needles after steam blocking

Techniques Required:
Knit, purl, standard increases/decreases, knitting in the round

Additional Notes:
Pattern is written out and has been professionally technical edited.
