Laguna Paron is arguably one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It lies deep within the Peruvian Andes mountains. I was fortunate to take a day hike to this lake when I was younger, and the grey crisp mountains coupled with the turquoise blue waters is a vista that will be forever embedded in my memory. I hope to someday bring my family on this hike so they too can feel the majestic mountains and dip their toes in the water (it is far too cold for me to jump in!). This shawl reminds me of the crisp mountain air and the perfect contrast between the sharp mountain peaks and small waves lapping the shore.
Sizes: Length along top edge: 105” (267 cm) Depth: 24” (61 cm)
Needles: US4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge at least 40" (102 cm) long
Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch marker (1)
Gauge: 25 sts / 44 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Garter Stitch after a light blocking Exact gauge is not critical, but because the shawl requires nearly the entire skein of each color, deviation from the gauge will affect the size of the shawl and yarn requirements.
