I lived in a little surfing and fishing village on the coast of Peru for about six months called Huanchaco. This town it holds a beloved spot in my heart. I loved watching the sunsets, the waves, and attempting to surf (I only actually stood up on the board once! I was better at just sitting on the board and letting the waves push me to shore!). Needles:
US6 (4.0 mm) and US7 (4.5 mm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge at least 40" (102 cm) long

Gauge:
21 sts / 32 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Garter Stitch using smaller needles (US 6 (4.0 mm)) after a light blocking
Exact gauge is not critical, but because the shawl requires nearly the entire skein of each color, deviation from the gauge will affect the size of the shawl and yarn requirements.
