Untwisting Twisted Stitches

I’m Joanna, the artisan behind Silver Key Stitches. The women in my mother’s family have always sewn, knit and crocheted and when I was young, my grandmother taught me how to knit. I discovered fine fibers when I picked up knitting again in my 20s and discovered fiber festivals and local yarn shops. I was drawn to the unique colors of the yarns of indie dyers as well as the textures of Merino, Alpaca, Silk, Bluefaced Leicester and Bamboo. I love creating new colors that you won’t find anywhere else and fiber blends that not ever dyer offers. All of my yarns are handdyed by me in my home studio in South Windsor, Connecticut.
